Hey all you KS backers!
So, we have got the app up and ready for closed beta testing. We have sent a survey to everyone (or in the case of $65 backers - a message) asking for your gmail email associated with the Android device on which you will be using the app.
Once the surveys are completed, you will receive a message via Kickstarter with the opt-in link and a promo code. We will provide instructions in the message as to how to use both the link and the promo code to prevent you from buying the app.
This is a closed beta test. As Kickstarter backers, you are the only ones with access to the app at this time. We will be updating the app in the near future and when it is completed, we will do a full release to the public.
If issues arise or problems appear with downloading, accessibility, or any other issues, we will be here to help you through and make sure you get the app. This has been a bit rocky as far as dealing with the Play Store (just technically speaking) and we have tried to make this as simple as possible for you all.
The next update will notify everyone of the app delivery messages.
Hey everyone. I want to start off by saying I apologize for the length between updates. The last few weeks has been filled with sickness, suffering, death, and a general malaise that seems to accompany this season. That being said, there was no excuse for me not to post an update and I sincerely apologize for that.
But, this is a happy update. We are finalizing everything on the Play Store tomorrow evening. This weekend I will arrange all of the distribution and promo codes and by the beginning of next week, the app will be available for download. Just in time for Christmas!
We have worked the majority of bugs out of the app but we are fairly sure that as folks test and play with it, things are sure to arise. That is what this beta version is for. To be clear, this is not a full version of the app. It is a fully a functioning version but not all content has been loaded. In the next update we will include bug fixes, new map tiles, icons, and other extras that aren’t in this version. What we wanted at this point was a usable version that could be tested in mass.
Thank you for being patient. Thank you for your support and trust. The beta version of the app will release on time as promised. We hope you enjoy the app and we look forward to your feedback.
This is just a quick update to let everyone know where we are with things concerning the app and getting Kickstarter rewards sent out...
Payments have been processed. We intend to begin sending out pdf rewards and mailed rewards in the coming weeks. We also hope to launch the first beta version of the app by mid to late October with updates following.
We will be reaching out to backers who have physical packages shipping in the next week as well.
Our plan is to have all rewards distributed to backers by the first of November, a month before the delivery date stated on Kickstarter.
So where are we with the app? We have been involved in extensive testing and bug checking for the last couple weeks. This is coming to an end. We have a working beta version and plan to add a couple more pieces before the beta launch.
We will post an update next week letting everyone know when surveys go out. See you then!
So, we are going to be posting updates every other week or so via Kickstarter to keep everyone apprised of our progress. We will also be posting weekly updates on here as well.
Right now we are waiting for Kickstarter payments to go through. While we wait we are creating an in-depth list of working app functions in order to establish any bugs we may not have already found. We are also including a few more tiles in the beta version to get a better idea of how things look and to provide a bit more usability.
A couple weeks after payments go through, we will begin to send out some of the rewards such as pdfs and physical decks. These rewards will be able to be fulfilled ahead of the beta release and we thought it would be nice to get some stuff into your hands a bit early.
We will continue to keep everyone up-to-date on progress and if any issues arise (we do not foresee any issues arising).
RPG WorldBuilder has been funded on Kickstarter at over 600%! We want to thank everyone who backed the project. You made it happen.
Now it's up to us to get the app in your hands as fast as possible. We plan to roll out the beta version of the app before the end of this year with a full version of the app following in summer 2018. Those who backed the Kickstarter at reward levels allowing for beta testing will be in on the ground floor. These testers are encouraged to give feedback and opinions as to the app, its functionality, features, and design. We are making this app to fill a niche in the gaming world and we want your opinions on how to do it better.
In the coming weeks we will be reaching out to backers, collecting information, and posting updates as to our progress on the beta version. One of our goals is to release the beta version with as few bugs as possible. Right now, we are doing bug fixes and testing. Future releases will see new content, more bug fixes, aesthetic improvements, and eventually the full version of the app.
Again, we want to thank all of our backers for making this project happen. We appreciate your support and we will do our best to bring you a product you will enjoy.

The goal is $500.

Be sure to get in early and support this
As we head toward the launch of the RPG WorldBuilder app Kickstarter, we are continuing to develop and refine each element of this already awesome app. This week we are looking at the new, digital version of the Dungeon Architect Cards as well as the Dungeon Map Maker (specifically, complex 8-way tiles).
Work continues on the Android version of the RPG WorldBuilder app. On one side of this work coin we have the app itself. On the other side we have the Kickstarter project which will see the apps release. For the last couple of weeks I have been heavily invested in the planning of the Kickstarter, the rewards, and how to bring the app to backers. What we wanted to do was offer backers an opportunity to get the app early (in a beta state), get related (useful) rewards attached to each reward tier, and to give backers additional perks for backing the project.
As the project deals primarily with tabletop maps, we thought it would be nice to offer backers a plethora of additional rewards along with the beta version of the app. Here is what we have so far…
So where are we on things?
The additional Kickstarter rewards are done. Maps are drawn and content is ready. We are finalizing the logistics of the Kickstarter project to make sure things run smoothly and that we have no hiccups in order to deliver what we promise to backers by the delivery date given.
On the app end, we are finalizing the basic elements of the base app and we are polishing and finalizing already created content while weeding out bugs.
Our goal is to create a Kickstarter project that gives backers a ton of content for a little money. As things move to finality, we will be contacting those who have signed up on the landing page. We will continue our dev blog and the transparency that all of our previous backers have come to expect in our projects.
We hope you will join us as we release the RPG WorldBuilder!
This week we are taking a look at the dungeon map generation element of the RPG WorldBuilder app. The dungeon generation portion of the app functions very similarly to that of overworld generation with the added feature of dungeon overlays. These overlays let you put objects such as traps, doors, stairs, water, bones, etc. into your dungeons. And just like the overworld feature, dungeon maps can be made from scratch, autogenerated, and edited to fit your needs. Take a look at the video below as we explore the newest addition to our already powerful app.
